History and booking

The Shed on Blackwood maximises up-cycling: from the basic shed, to the doors, the window latches and the bathroom’s door, it has been completely modernised with a new kitchen and bathroom, freshly painted and tiled, and new or recycled furniture – nothing prevents you from having a very comfortable stay with us. Spend hours watching the myriad of birds (over 43 species have been photographed recently), wander around the 2 1/2 acres of garden, talk to the chooks, and Audie and Mopsy, our labradoodles, maybe walk along the river or simply sit under the lean-to with your coffee or vino and while away the hours.

The Shed has free WIFI and free Netflix for our guests.

It is a short drive (either along the Boyup Brook road or south to Pemberton and Northcliffe) to see orchids and other wonderful wild flowers when Spring appears each year.

The birds are active in our garden all year round. Many more photos can be found on The Shed on Blackwood Facebook page, including photos taken by guests of local orchids.

Bridgetown is cool in autumn and cold in winter, but with warm clothing and the wood fire burning, you will be very cosy in The Shed. During the summer months (December to March), the days are warm to hot, but the evenings and nights are cool.

Rates are $150/night for two adults, including DIY essentials (bread, milk, sugar, s&p, oil, herbs, washing up liquid), bed linen and towels. We don’t have additional beds for The Shed (it has one queen size bed), however, if you have a baby under 6 mths (please bring your own cot) it would be welcome. The Shed isn’t suitable for  toddlers and children under 12yrs because of the dogs and the wood fire.
